Elizabeth will outline the Commission's plan to meet the water needs of South East Queensland in the face of massive population growth and climate change. She will highlight how the current reforms in the water industry will deliver a new level of water security for our region and also report on the commission's "Water at Work" program.
Jamie Quinn - What's in it for Ipswich Business
Jamie will combine an intimate knowledge of Ipswich with his current work as a Water Commissioner, to deliver some insights on how Ipswich Businesses can prepare for, and benefit from, the changes to our water industry.
Mayor Paul Pisasale will also address the Chamber Members and Guests on Water in Ipswich.

A cold morning saw many of our members, up early to hear about Channel Nine going digital. Heather Foord joined us along with Les Hart, who took us on the New Digital Television journey. The Chamber also introduced 30 minutes of networking prior to the start of the breakfast over a morning coffee, this was very well received by all guests and will continue at all functions.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the Department of State Development are offering free safety workshops for small and medium business in 22 locations around Queensland. These workshops work through the Serious about Safe Business package which provides a simplified safety management framework. It focuses on how easy it can be to develop and implement a safety management system in your workplace. The workshops are NOT suitable for large businesses OR for businesses with well developed WHS systems. The three hour workshops will be hosted in State Development centres and will address topics including: • Management commitment to safety • Developing and implementing safe work procedures • Self assessing your business The workshops will be practical, allowing participants the opportunity to provide input and discuss safety issues present in their own business.

Equine Influenza Panel Discussion with MC Bart Sinclair Courier Mail Racing Editor, along with Heath Ryan Australian Representative in both Eventing & Dressage and Peter Toft Winner of Queensland Govt Exporter of the Year.
A wonderful lunch was enjoyed by over 100 local business men and women at the Ipswich Turf Club to listen and discuss the impact of the Equine Influenza outbreak and how it has effected a wide range of business from the racing industry, competition, breeding industury to the pleasure horse owner.
The panel of expects came from all over Australian and Included Bart Sinclair the Courier Mails racing editor. Heath Ryan Assistant Coach to the Australian Olympic Dressage Team for 2008, Peter Toft from Toft Endurance and Sean Dwyer top Australian Thoroughbred Trainer.
After the panel the guests enjoyed an afternoon in the Trackside lounge watching the races enjoying a few drinks.
