Child Care Caps will Hurt

The National Quality Agenda is going to push up prices by as much as $22 a day but the Gillard Government is hell bent on capping the Child Care Rebate at $7500 for the next 4 years.  The Child Care Benefit will increase by a mere 0.08 cents per hour taking the maximum childcare benefit to $184 from $180 per week for eligible families.

The controversial Resource Super Profits Tax

OK, IT"S complicated. But given the role the controversial Resource Super Profits Tax may play in our nation's economic prosperity, it's important to gain some grasp of it.
The Government says the old tax system has failed to keep pace with the spiralling profits generated by the big miners. The miners believe the new tax is not a tax on "super profits" but on very mild profits.
