Small Business Solutions Program
Small Business Solutions is a new Smart State initiative designed to enhance the business skills, profitability and growth of small businesses across Queensland.
An outcome of the Queensland Skills Plan, the program was developed by the Department of Education, Training and the Arts in conjunction with TAFE Queensland and Skilling Solutions Queensland.
It also has the support of other key stakeholders including Australian Industry Group, Australian Institute of Management, Commerce Queensland - Queensland’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Department of State Development, Logan City Council, Logan Office of Economic Development, Queensland Tourism Industry Council, Redlands Shire Council, Thuringowa City Council, Townsville City Council and Women’s Network Australia.
The program will enable small businesses to access personalised one-on-one mentoring from experienced and qualified small business professionals for as little as $350 for 3 hours of mentoring or a bulk purchase of 12 hours for a discounted price of $1200.
In addition, small business owners and operators will have the opportunity to gain a formal qualification of their industry knowledge and skills through recognition of prior learning, whilst having ongoing access to relevant information to support their business.
Small businesses, micro businesses and home-based businesses will greatly benefit from the targeted, affordable and big picture one-on-one mentoring.
Entrepreneur Program - Ideas2Market Ideas2Market is an entrepreneur program developed to build skills in commercialising ideas and inventions to assist business growth. It provides innovators and entrepreneurs with advice, ideas, hints and links that can assist them in taking their idea or product to market. Ideas2Market is an initiative of the Queensland Government’s Department of State Development and Trade and is delivered by the Australian Institute for Commercialisation. It is currently delivered in Queensland and Tasmania.
