Shop Ipswich campaign to boost local business recovery
IPSWICH CHAMBER of Commerce and Industry, the Ipswich Business Enterprise Centre (BECIR) and Ipswich City Council (ICC) in partnership with the Queensland Times (QT) and River 949, launch the city's most comprehensive 'buy local' campaign as the second stage in business recovery following the recent floods announced Chamber President Michael Munt.
"The Chamber is very excited about the 'Shop Ipswich' campaign," Mr Munt said.
"The 'Shop Ipswich' campaign represents stage two of our business recovery strategy.
"It builds on the very successful stage one of our business recovery strategy, which included free workshops offering concrete and immediate support as well as streamlined access to relevant government agencies."
'Shop Ipswich' is designed as a consumer and business confidence-building campaign to run for the coming twelve months, over there stages, to increase consumer awareness and customer traffic.
"The Chamber believes the 'Shop Ipswich' campaign is important for business and the wider community. "Everyone is aware the flooding has had a devastating effect on many businesses in our region, but they may not fully understand the powerful contribution each shopper can make to the recovery by spending their money locally. 'Shop Ipswich' highlights how buying local can have a powerful and immediate impact on business recovery. "Anyone interested in participating in the campaign can also purchase 'Shop Ipswich' merchandise including polo shirts, t-shirts and bumper stickers from the Chamber, with proceeds going to the Ipswich Flood Appeal," Mr Munt said.
The 'Shop Ipswich' campaign was officially launched by Mayor Paul Pisasale on Wednesday 2nd February at the Chamber's Networking AFTER 5 event.
The Chamber encourages local business to utilise the "Shop Ipswich" logo in their advertising and marketing. They can be used however you wish – for window posters, in press and print advertisements or on social media. Send us pictures of how you use the logos so we can help you spread the message.
